... Did anyone else hear that conversation just then? I'm not sure what it means, but I can tell that it isn't good. Especially the way their voices... changed mid conversation.

(Goddammit, why is there always something causing trouble? And why in succession all of a sudden!? The Angels, those noises that are supposedly from the dairy, the highway, people supposedly turning into goddamn bears, and now this. ... I'd gladly take Haruhi any day over all of this nonsense.)

The voice changing means that they are breaking their drone pattern and trying to establish their real selves. They don't seem to be in complete control of it - the librarian especially fluctuated a lot. My guess is that they were both residents of Mayfield before it became the Mayfield we are in now.

Breaking the role has happened before I heard. Like waking people up from it somehow. How it happens is not completely known, but it seems possible. As for who they are, it doesn't seem like we have enough information yet.
