Hm, well, too much stability in one's life can be a negative thing. Even in nature, animals who are used to the status quo are often the animals that are eradicated in the punctuated equilibrium theory of evolution, no matter how long they stay alive and thriving in one environment. Little alterations of minor significance, as long as they produce a certain discomfort, may yet keep one ready to be changing in the long run, which is necessary, after all. If we stay too closely wedded to our ideas, we become partisans rather than explorers. Even longstanding beliefs, not to mention one's own hairstyle, can and should be questioned. When events conspire to question them, in particular, it's worth examining them again to see the level of truth and to examine whether there's any truth hidden in them from a different perspective.
