So...besides replacing people, they have affected our memories as well. These actions certainly match with the town's previous activity. However, this brings me back to the original point--why would they warn us of the replacements then? Would it not be more devastating for us to realize that not only have our comrades been replaced, but we are also forgetting the originals? Is our memory the real target? Will we start forgetting more than just the "replaced" people?
